Extension of the period for the doctoral thesis defence

DESCRIPTION: This process is for doctoral students who have received the approval of the Management Committee of the School to defend their theses and for whom the period of 60 calendar days to conduct the defence has expired. The process allows these students to apply for an extension of 15 working days in which to defend their theses, in accordance with Article 26 of the academic and registration regulations governing doctoral courses.

Application procedure
Who:	The doctoral student or authorized person on presentation of the necessary identification.
Where:	At the General Registry of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili or at any of its other auxiliary registries. The application must be addressed to the secretary's office of the coordinator's/doctoral programme's department.
When:	At least 10 days before the expiry of the 60 period approved by the Management Committee of the School for the defence of the thesis. If possible, the application should be submitted in advance.
How:	Students must present: An Application addressed to the doctoral programme coordinator.
Cost:	None

Resolution of ther application
Who:	The academic committee of the doctoral programme.
When:	When the academic committee meets.
Observations:	a) The management committee will send the corresponding resolution to tesis@urv.cat so that the information on the system can be updated. b) The Doctoral School will send the resolution by email to the interested party, the thesis tutor and/or the thesis supervisor and the department.
