- Enquiries about the registration process
Any enquiry or question about the registration process for novel PhD students must be addressed to the corresponding Campus Secretariat for Academic Management.
- Registration fees
The academic year begins on 1 October and finishes on 30 September of the following year.
Doctoral students must register for each academic year according to the academic calendar.
First-year-students must present their original documents to their Campus Secretariat for Academic Management before their first registration.
Non-first-year-students will be registered each September.
The structure of the doctoral programmes is not based on ECTS credits. This means that students register for thesis tuition, which is the foundation of doctoral study.
In addition to thesis tuition, doctoral registration includes administrative fees and compulsory insurance. Bridging courses are also included, if needed.
Fees for the defence of the doctoral thesis and the issuance of the degree certificate should also be payed.

If the academic committee decides that you must complete one or more bridging courses, you should remember that these are ECTS courses because they tend to be master's degree subjects. Therefore, students must pay the corresponding registration fee/s.
*Students with foreign qualifications must bear in mind that when they first register they will have to pay the Academic fee for university graduates from foreign educational systems. This fee is €218.15 for the academic year 2024-2025.
