Depending on the origin of the institution issuing the entrance qualification for the doctoral programme, applicants need to submit the following documents:

(*) The academic records or European Diploma Supplements must include the academic years/semesters, the subjects studied, grades and number of hours/credits for each of them. They must also contain information about the grading system applied as well as the Grade Point Average (GPA).
In principle, you do not need to provide the certificates (diplomas) because we will verify them through the qualifications register of the corresponding Ministry. If we cannot verify them, you will be asked to provide the receipts conforming that you have paid the fees for the issuance of the certificates.
However, the Advanced Studies Diplomas and the document that accredits research aptitude will have to be submitted, because they were not registered at the National Register.
Once admitted academically, you will have to present certified copies of the above-listed documents (except the academic records or European Diploma Supplements) and the passport. In principle, it will not be necessary to present neither the Spanish identity card nor the NIE, because the university will check with the corresponding administration.
In addition, applicants must submit the documents required by the doctoral programme, which are listed in the profile of the programme.
(**) The European Diploma Supplement (EDS) is a document issued by Higher education institutions within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) that provides information about the grading system used for your university qualification and the access that your qualification provides to further studies. If your diploma includes an EDS, you can submit it because it fulfills the requirements of an academic record. Check which countries belong to the European Higher Education Area.
Entrance qualification from a foreign university (EHEA)
The academic documentation required depends on the entrance qualification:
1-Degree that accredits a level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework, as long as it enables to access a doctoral programme in the issuing country
- Official Master's degree certificate or equivalent (front and back side, even if it's blank)
- Academic record* of the Master's degree or European Diploma Supplement**
2-Doctoral degree
- Doctoral degree certificate (front and back side, even if it's blank)
- Academic record* of the doctoral studies or European Diploma Supplement**
(*) The academic records or European Diploma Supplements must include the academic years/semesters, the subjects studied, grades and number of hours/credits for each of them. They must also contain information about the grading system applied as well as the Grade Point Average (GPA).
In this case the documentation must meet the Requirements for foreign documents.
Once admitted academically, you will have to present certified copies of the above-listed documents (except the academic records or European Diploma Supplements) and the passport. In principle, it will not be necessary to present neither the Spanish identity card nor the NIE, because the university will check with the corresponding administration.
If you have applied for homologation of your degree by the Spanish Ministry of Education, this gives official validity in Spain for higher education qualifications obtained abroad. A homologated foreign degree has the same effects as the Spanish qualification or the academic level to which it is homologated. Therefore, if you have homologated your qualification, you must follow the same process as applicants from Spanish universities but also attach proof of homologation of the qualification.
