Specific admission criteria of the doctoral programme

Specific requirements
In addition to the general entrance requirements for doctoral studies, applicants must meet the following specific requirements:

The first degree should be in biochemistry, biotechnology, biology, chemistry, nutrition and dietetics, science and food technology, medicine, biomedical sciences, genetics or another field of biosciences, life sciences or health sciences related to nutrition and metabolism. The master's degree should be also related with the field of biosciences, life sciences or health sciences related to nutrition and metabolism.

Students who want to access the doctoral program without Having Conducted research credits, will Have to present a research paper, Which has Contributed in a Relevant way, Which will be reviewed by a committee of PhD program. This commission will judge one of the following:

A research Carried out for th purpose and supervised by a doctor professor at the URV

A research paper published in an indexed journal.

Two research papers presented at national conferences

A research paper presented at an international level Congress

Proof of basic English.

Merits and assessment criteria
Students will be selected according to the following criteria:

Assessment of the academic record of the official degree qualifying students for entrance to the doctoral programme, and experience (30%).

An interview with the research group (30%).
-
Research experience related to the specific research project, including scientific contributions such as publications, courses and participation in research projects in the field (25%).

A letter of motivation (5%).
-
A letter of reference - no more than two (5%).

Other merits (5%).
