Cross-disciplinary training activities
The URV offers a range of cross-disciplinary training activities that doctoral students can choose to complement their scientific training.
These activities are common to all doctoral programmes. They broaden the knowledge of students, fostering generic skills and interdisciplinary relations between them.
See the cross-disciplinary training activities for the current academic year
Specific training activities
In addition to the cross-disciplinary training activities, the doctoral programme includes a series of specific training activities (some optional and some compulsory), as detailed below.
The specific activities for the doctoral programme of Thermodynamic Fluid Engineering are as follows:
- Preparation and defence of the doctoral thesis (AFT01).
- Dissemination and publication of research results (AFT02).
- Mobility and scientific exchange (AFT03) (more information) .
- Seminars and courses organised by the programme (AFE14)(more information) .
- Monographic courses (AFE15)(more information) .
- Workshop (AFE16)(more information) .
- Specific training courses/seminars related to the thesis topic (AFE17)(more information) .
- Participation in R&D projects (AFE18)(more information) .
- Assistant teaching (AFE19)(more information) .
Guided by their tutor and/or supervisor, each student will choose and schedule the conferences that they should attend according to their needs and availability.
In the case of stays in institutions, field work or documentary work in archives, each student will be guided by their supervisor to decide the area or archive in which to conduct the research and the best time for their stay in the other institution. In this case, the objectives pursued will be set and the work plan will be established in agreement with the host group.
Mobility and scientific exchange activities
Mobility adds value to the doctoral training, so a research stay abroad is compulsory for the doctoral programme in Thermodynamic Fluid Engineering.
A research stay of at least three months outside Spain allows students to obtain an International Doctor Mention.
