Cross-disciplinary training activities
The URV offers a range of cross-disciplinary training activities that doctoral students can choose to complement their scientific training.
These activities are common to all doctoral programmes. They broaden the knowledge of students, fostering generic skills and interdisciplinary relations between them.

Specific training activities
In addition to the cross-disciplinary training activities, the doctoral programme includes a series of specific training activities (some optional and some compulsory).
The specific activities for the doctoral programme of Neuroscience are as follows:
1. Attendance at national or international conferences (optional).
2. Stays at other research centres (optional).
3. General mobility planning, including the above (optional).
4. Monitoring meetings for thesis projects, work and research results (optional).
5. Research Seminars (compulsory).
Mobility and scientific exchange activities
The doctoral programme can be taken entirely at the URV, or through distance learning if so agreed with the thesis supervisor. However, mobility is an added value to the doctoral training, so it is usually recommended that students undertake a research stay abroad.

Description
A research stay of at least three months at a national or foreign establishment belonging to another university or research institution of recognised prestige. Guided by their tutor and supervisor, each student will select the host centre for their research stay and the most appropriate time to carry it out. The objectives of the stay and the work plan will be determined by agreement with the host group.

To demonstrate the ability to integrate and work in other groups.
To exchange knowledge and research results.
To speak another language.

Assessment system
At the end of the stay, students must present a report of the activities and a certificate from the head of the host group.
If a research stay outside Spain is undertaken for a minimum of three months, and the requirements of Royal Decree 99/2011 are met, the doctoral students may obtain the International Doctor Mention.
