- Introduction and objectives
In Spain there is a small scientific community in fluid mechanics that has considerable international prestige and has shown growing interest in recent years in addressing problems of importance to industry. However, it is very small in comparison with its counterparts in neighbouring countries. This doctoral programme seeks to bring together a multidisciplinary team in fluid mechanics that is of sufficient size to effectively study a wide spectrum of fluid dynamics problems and initiate collaboration with industries in strategic matters in the medium to long term. The doctoral programme includes activities of knowledge organisation and transmission carried out in coordination with research and development. The aim is thus to train students to become scientists and technologists who are able to promote collaboration between universities and enterprises (one of the main shortcomings of the Spanish science and technology system) and to attract scientists from related fields to form interdisciplinary groups to undertake new programmes of knowledge creation and collaboration with industry.
- Interuniversity PhD
The doctoral program in Fluid Mechanics is organized jointly by the following universities, coordinated by the University of Jaén:
