Training activities
The URV offers its doctoral students a series of transversal activities to complement their scientific training.
These activities are the same for all doctoral programmes and thus increase the scope of doctoral students' knowledge, transversal competencies and interdisciplinary relations.

Specific training activities
In addition to the transversal training activities, the doctoral programme features a series of optional and compulsory specific training activities.
For the Doctoral Programme in Cities, Territory and Sustainable Planning, the specific activities are as follows:
1. Training in the dissemination and publication of research results
2. Training in mobility and scientific exchange
3. Research seminars
4. Collaborative tuition
5. Research forums
6. Specialised, practical and methodological training courses
Mobility activities and scientific exchange
The doctoral programme may be completed entirely at the URV or via distance-learning if agreed with the thesis supervisor. Nevertheless, mobility brings added value to doctoral training and students are consequently encouraged to conduct part of their research at another institution abroad.
Furthermore, doctoral students who engage in research for a minimum of three months outside Spain and meet the requirements established in Royal Decree 99/2011 are eligible for the qualification of doctor with an international mention.
